In this IMG activity, you can assign user-defined replacement texts for standard F&R exception texts.

For each replacement text you want to assign, you must first use transaction SE91 (SAP message maintenance) to define customer-specific replacement messages. You must create a message class and corresponding replacement messages in the customer namespace.

SAP recommends that all text parameters of the original standard message are also reused in the replacement message. This ensures that no information will be lost when the exception is displayed in the exception user interfaces.

If a long text is defined for the original F&R standard message, SAP recommends that you also define a long text for the replacement message. Once a replacement message is assigned to a standard message, the system ignores the long text of the original message. Only the long text of the replacement message will be displayed. So if you do not want to replace the long text but only the short text of the standard message, you must copy the long text from the original message to the replacement message.

You also have to translate the user-defined replacement messages in all languages that you want to use in your F&R system landscape.

For each standard F&R exception text you want to replace by a user-defined text, you have to add a new assignment record in Customizing. You enter the message ID and message number of the standard F&R message you want to replace (the related text will be displayed automatically in the maintenance dialog as soon as you choose Return) and then you assign the message ID and number of the user-defined replacement message that you have previously created in transaction SE91. The text will be automatically displayed when you choose Return.
