In this IMG activity for SAP Retail Forecasting and Replenishment (SAP F&R), you can define settings for the usage of time series.

Two default profiles are delivered: one for stores and one for distribution centers.

The time series profile defines a list of key figure parameters (KPRM). The list of selectable key figures is fixed. Each assigned KPRM specifies a time series (for example, consumption data).

The time series level defines the characteristics of the values for a specific parameters. Time series values can be related to location products (default case) and locations.

Granularity defines the degree of compression for time series values. Each KPRM requires a primary granularity. You can optionally define a secondary granularity. The secondary granularity must be coarser than the primary granularity. The primary granularity is used to store the time series to as fine a degree as necessary for a short time horizon. The secondary granularity is used to store the time series on a coarser granularity for a long time horizon. SAP F&R supports granularities 'Day' and 'Week.'

The number of future and past periods for the granularities define the horizon for the availability of time series values. The horizon for the secondary granularity is at least as long as the horizon for primary granularity. Future periods are used for forecast time series.

Example: If the past horizon for primary granularity day is 30 days, the past horizon for secondary granularity is at least 5 weeks.

Values are restricted for some key figure parameters. The minimum daily consumption horizon is restricted by the predefined parameter configuration used for FRP.

The time series type defines the related F&R time series type defined within the TSDM configuration. The value is related to the granularity and not maintainable within this transaction.

The unit flag indicates whether the time series values are related to the base unit of measure or if they are stored without relation to any dimension.
