In this Customizing activity, you can check standard message types that you send to the central GBA authority (outgoing messages) and those that you receive from the authority (incoming messages). You can also create your own message types .

The system uses message types to determine how to process messages. For more information, see message type.

The types and descriptions that you define in this activity are also used in the Customizing activity Define Information Content of Outgoing Messages.

For each of the message categories Set Indication and Remove Indication, only one message type should exist. Note that if you change the settings for these message categories, you must also change the corresponding settings in the Customizing activity Define Message Subtypes and Information Content of Ad-Hoc Messages.

You can define more than one message type for ad-hoc query messages based on what information you want to request from the GBA authority.

The standard system contains a set of sample settings. You can change these settings according to your requirements.
