This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the SAP GTS, identity-based preference processing component. You use this BAdI to exchange the identifier in relevant material documents. The system uses the batch as the default identifier.

You can use this BAdI to change the identifier for the following material document postings:

  • Goods Receipt for Purchase Order
The material must be relevant for SAP GTS, identity-based preferenceprocessing. For one goods receipt item, you can return multiple identifiers. This is applicable if you want to use serial numbers instead of batches. The returned identifier type and identifiers are used to create identity-based vendor declarations in GTS.
  • Goods Receipt for Production or Process Order
You can exchange the identifier for produced materials. However, you can only exchange the identifier type and identifier. If you want to calculate, for example, on serial number level, you can either create one goods receipt item per serial number, or you can calculate, for example, on batch level and map the calculated result to the serial numbers via BAdI BAdI: Synchronize Preference Information from GTS with ERP.
  • Goods Issue for Production or Process Order
You can change the identifiers for components used in the production. Here, you can return multiple identifiers per goods issue item. This is applicable if you want to use serial numbers instead of batches. For self-produced assemblies, you should use the identifier type used for Goods Receipt for Production or Process Order. For externally procured materials, you should use the identifier type used for Goods Receipt for Purchase Order.

For each identifier, you must return the corresponding quantity. The sum of all quantities must not exceed the quantity of the goods issue item.

For more information about the standard settings (filters, single or multiple uses), see the Enhancement Spot Element Definitions tab in the BAdI Builder (transaction SE18).

Information about the implementation of BAdIs in the context of the enhancement concept is available in the SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver under BAdIs - Embedding in the Enhancement Framework.

  • You use documentary batches instead of batches.
  • You use serial numbers or equipment numbers instead of batches.
  • The batches are stored in a customer-specific database table.
