In this IMG activity, you first define the valuation methods and then assign the relevant valuation methods to the relevant RBD area.

  • Step 1: Define RBD Valuation Method
If you defined more than one valuation method, you can use the RBD: Standard Valuation Method Decision (Y/N) indicator to define the standard valuation method. The system enters this method by default when you create a RBD account, but you can overwrite the default value when you create the RBD acoount.
The current release supports the following valuation methods:
  • 01 - Past-Oriented Valuation (for example, German HGB)

Valuation method per HGB is a past analysis. Therefore, you must assign this valuation method to the "past" analysis horizon.
  • 02 - Valuation method per IAS/IFRS

Valuation method per IAS/IFRS deals with future cash flows. Therefore, you must assign this valuation method to the "fair value" analysis horizon.
  • Step 2: Assignment of RBD Area to Valuation Method
To activate the previously define valuation methods in a RBD area, you must assign the relevant valuation method for each RBD area. For each RBD area, the system presents only these valuation methods for selection in the application.
  • Step 1: Definition of Valuation Methods
You define both of the valuation methods '01 - HGB' and '02 - IAS/IFRS'. You define the valuation method '01 - HGB' as the standard valuation method. You activate the unwinding function for valuation method '02'.
Valuation method Description Horizon Standard Method Short text Unwinding activated Accounting standard

02 Valuation method per IAS/IFRS Fair Value - IAS/IFRS X -

  • Step 2: Assignment of relevant valuation methods per RBD area
You assign both of the valuation methods '01 - HGB' and '02 - IAS/IFRS' to RBD area '001'..
The entries for valuation methods '01' and '02' are selected. You then execute 'Assignment of RBD Area to Valuation Method'. In the subsequent Customizing Table, you must assign the valuation method to the RBD area. You can assign only those valuation methods that were selected earlier.
