/IPRO/MIGRATION - Migrate Data

Run this report to migrate master and business data from Release 2.0 to Release 3.0.

You can run this report only once. To avoid data inconsistency, it is recommended that you perform a test run first. A test run does not affect the database.

You can migrate the following data for a specific content:

  • Standard and custom elements
  • Documents
  • Templates

You can choose to migrate one element, document, or template at the time, or to migrate them en masse. For mass migration, a phased approach is preferable. In other words, you migrate elements first, then documents, and finally templates.

Note

It is recommended that you perform a test run on a limited number of documents and templates in your test system first.

You must have upgraded your Document Builder system by means of transaction Add-On Installation Tool(SAINT).

By default, all checkboxes are selected.

  1. Select all options and perform a test run.
  2. After you have checked the report log, run the report in production mode.

To migrate elements, documents, and templates en masse:

  1. Select an option and perform a test run first.
  2. In a new session, run transaction Analyse Application Log (SLG1) to check the application log. Enter the object /IPRO/DOCB and the subobject /IPRO/DOCB_CM.
  3. Choose Execute and analyze the results.
  4. Go back to the migration report and run it in production mode as follows:
    1. Select the Elements/Custom Elements checkbox and deselect the Documents and Templates checkboxes.
    2. Enter a content.
    3. Choose Execute.
  5. Perform the IMG activity Define Elements and check whether the status of the elements is set to 'Default'.
  6. Run the report.
  7. Perform the IMG activity Define Elements and check whether the status of the elements has been set to 'Active'.
  8. Deselect the Elements/Custom Elements and Templates checkboxes and select the Documents checkbox.
  9. Repeat the above steps for your documents.
  10. Deselect the Elements/Custom Elements and Documents checkboxes and select the Templates checkbox.
  11. Repeat the above steps for your templates.

To migrate single documents or templates:

  1. Under Single Object Selection, enter the document or templater you want to convert.
  2. Run the report in test mode.
  3. Check the application log.
  4. Run the report in production mode.
