In this Customizing activity, you enter data for the locally available logical systems that are operated as central or local production systems in a system in the DFPS system landscape. Entries are also required for the systems for which automatic responses are required if the connection is interrupted.

Usually, only one production client is operated in a physical system as a central or local system in the distributed DFPS landscape.

  • For the productive client, define an entry with the logical system name and identify it as the main local system by entering X in the "Main" (Local Main System) field. You do not need to enter data in the "ConnAuto" (Auto-Reaction if Connection Fails) field.
  • Create a corresponding entry for all systems with which the main local system has a communications relationship as part of the DFPS landscape, and enter X in the "ConnAuto" field for the systems for which automatic responses should occur if communication is interrupted for the transient transition. The "Main" field must not contain entries for this.

In the test environment, several systems can run expediently in the same physical system.

  • Create a row containing a logical system name for each production client that is run locally.
  • The "Main" field must contain X for one entry only. The "ConnAuto" field should be empty for all local DFPS system entries, since connections are not interrupted locally.
