In this Customizing activity, you define advice codes.

An advice code is used in logistics data records (for example, in requests and return deliveries) to provide a data record recipient (MRP controller) with additional information about a logistics operation.

1. The processing indicator assigned indicates whether the purchase requisition is to be processed further manually or automatically.
2. If the RDE (return delivery exclusion) indicator is selected, a purchase requisition cannot be created for a return delivery.
3. The Cl. indicator controls whether a purchase requisition is to be set to closed if the material is not available. In this case, the purchase requisition is assigned the status code stored here. See status code.
4. If the material is not available and the closed indicator is set, the status code is assigned to the purchase requisition. See closed indicator.

The advice code is used in the following logistics applications:

• Stock transport requisition

• Stock transport order

• Reservation

When the purchase requisition is entered, the advice code can be specified manually. The advice code is transferred from the stock transport requisition to the stock transport order. The advice code does not have a controlling effect on the reservation.
