In this Customizing activity, you define the relevance of the individual technical statuses. A technical status can be relevant for the inheritance to master equipment. In this case, the Relevant field is activated. If more than one technical status is passed on to a piece of master equipment, the priority specified in this activity determines which status is displayed. The Signed and Deleted fields indicate whether a technical status is completed or deleted. Neither completed nor deleted statuses are to be selected as relevant. Therefore, a completed or deleted status should not have a priority.

Before you can specify the semantics of the technical statuses, a status profile must be defined for this user status.

Set up Customizing according to the following rules:

  • Each status must have a status number (user status).
  • Each status profile requires a status with the "Deleted" indicator.
  • Only one status with the "Deleted" indicator may exist in the status profile.
  • There must be at least one status with a "Relevant" indicator.
  • A status with the "Deleted" indicator must not have a priority.
  • At least one status with the "Relevant" indicator must exist in the status profile.
  • A status with priority requires a "Relevant" indicator.
  • Two statuses with the same priority are not permitted in the status profile.
  • A status requires a "Relevant", "Signed", or "Deleted" indicator.
  • A status must only have one indicator.
  • The status control must be set such that a status with the "Relevant" indicator is always replaced with a status with the "Signed" or "Deleted" indicator.

You can check your status profile using the Consistency Check for Technical Status transaction.

You have four symbols: a red cross, a red cross in a circle, a red slash, and a red horizontal line, as well as the name ID. While the four symbols, listed in descending order of priority, are relevant for being passed on to the master equipment, name IDs are to be considered as a signed status without such a relevance. If necessary, additional statuses, such as Deleted, that is, statuses set inadvertently or deselected deliberately, can also be defined and indicated as deleted and not relevant for being passed on.
