SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you define the security level for the treatment authorization for each institution in SAP Patient Management (IS-H). To improve system performance, you specify an expiry time that determines how long negative check results remain valid before the system deletes them from the buffer.

The different security levels allow you to check your Customizing settings in detail and carry out the implementation step by step before reaching the highest security level.

Maintain the security level for the checks on the treatment authorization for an institution. Enter the expiry time for negative check results in the Expiry Time field. You can enter a value in seconds from blank (= 0) to 255.

Choose one of the following specifications for the security level:

  • OFF:
The check for treatment authorization is deactivated. There are no access restrictions.
  • "Permitting" Test Mode:
During the check for treatment authorization, the system informs users of restrictions to their access to patient data due to missing OU jurisdictions, but does not apply these restrictions. If you have not configured an OU jurisdiction for a user, the system does not check whether they have treatment authorization.
  • "Prohibiting" Test Mode:
During the check for treatment authorization, the system informs users of restrictions to their access to patient data due to missing OU jurisdictions, but does not apply these restrictions. This check also takes place for users for whom you have not defined an OU jurisdiction.
  • "Permitting" ON:
During the check for treatment authorization, the system informs users of restrictions to their access to patient data due to missing OU jurisdictions. If you have not configured an OU jurisdiction for a user, the system does not check whether they have treatment authorization, which means their access to data is not restricted.
  • "Prohibiting" ON:
On this security level, the system restricts users' access to patient data if they do not have the required OU jurisdiction and have therefore not been issued a treatment authorization. If you have not configured an OU jurisdiction for a user, they have no access to patient data.

We recommend emptying the buffer containing the check results when you switch to a different security level. For more information, see the Customizing activity Empty Treatment Authorization Buffer.
