In this Customizing activity, you can maintain basic parameters for DRG documentation for a specified period for each institution. These parameters are required for each institution if you use the DRG documentation function.

You can set the following parameters:

  • Institution
There must be a separate set of parameters for each institution.
  • Valid From and Valid To
Validity period of the parameters. The system assigns each case by its admission date to a period for which a set of parameters is valid. Overlapping periods are not allowed within one institution.
You can also define the discharge date as the criterion for the validity period instead of the admission date in the Customizing activity Specify Discharge Date as Reference for Catalog Determination. This Customizing activity is relevant for the country versions Italy and Singapore only.
  • DRG system
The DRG system determines basic characteristics and rules for a DRG procedure, which are often country-specific.
  • DRG catalog
DRG catalog valid for each institution and period.
  • MDC catalog (MDC = Major Diagnostic Categories)
MDC catalog valid for each institution and period.
  • DRG Group. Ctrl (DRG grouper control)
DRG grouper control valid for each institution and period. You can assign the DRG grouper control as you wish. The only condition is that it must serve as a unique reference to DRG grouper assignments. The DRG grouper control is located together with the Customizing activities for connecting to a DRG grouper under DRG Data Exchange in Customizing for SAP Healthcare:

  • Asgmt Type (assignment type for DRG codes)
Assignment type for assigning a DRG code from the DRG catalog to a corresponding service from the in-house catalog and that is valid for a specific institution and period.
