SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity, you define a status profile to be used for a new case in relation to the admission date and case type in a given institution.

When a new case is created and the admission date or time of an existing case is modified, the system decides if the case participates in medical basic documentation status management with the entered status profile, or, if a status profile is not entered, if it does not participate. In other words, a case need not necessarily be assigned a medical basic documentation status in SAP Patient Management. This can be stipulated in Customizing. A case is assigned to a status profile when it is created (and the case number assigned). If a status profile is not assigned, the system suppresses the relevant fields in the following transactions that permit the display and maintenance of the medical status:

  • NP37: IS-H: Create Surgery (Visit)
  • NP47: IS-H: Maintain Case-Related Procedures
  • NP61: IS-H: Maintain Diagnosis Documentation by Case/N222: IS-H*MED: Maintain Diagnosis Documentation/Case
  • NPDRG2: IS-H: Maintain DRG Data

Status profiles must have been created in the IMG activity Define Status Profiles.

This IMG activity does not contain any entries as standard. If during the release upgrade the system finds cases for which a basic medical documentation status has been entered, it creates a standard entry that is intended to be used as the standard profile for inpatient and outpatient cases as of the date of the release upgrade.

Caution: If you make changes relating to periods in the past in the IMG activity for maintaining the status profiles, there is a danger that existing cases will lose their basic medical documentation status. This occurs when changes to the admission date, admission time or case type result in cases being assigned a status profile different to that previously assigned by the modified Customizing entries. The assignment of a different status profile leads to the system setting the initial status of the other status profile as the basic medical documentation status for the case.

Field Value
Institution 1
Valid To 12/31/2002
Valid From 01/01/2001

Explanation:

  • Inpatient cases that were admitted between 01/01/2001 and 12/31/2002 are assigned the status profile ISH00001.
  • The system assigns the status profile ISH00002 to day patient cases.
  • Outpatient cases are not assigned a status profile, and do not participate in status management.
