In this step, you define the number intervals of the number range for sales promotions.

Each sales promotion is created under a unique key. You can define an internal and an external number range interval for assigning these keys.

  • If you do not specify a key when you create a sales promotion, the system automatically assigns a sequence number from the internal number range interval.
  • If you assign the key yourself when you create a promotion, the system checks your entry against the external number range interval.

The indicator "Ext" controls whether the corresponding number range interval is internal or external.

To define a number range, determine a number interval (or several number intervals). To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters.
  2. Specify the limits of the number interval. Intervals must not overlap. This means each number can only be used once.
  3. Select the "Ext" indicator for external number range intervals.

You can define how the number range intervals are used for the number range object ISM_PROMO under Basic Settings - Definition of Number Range Usage.
