In this Customizing activity, you convert the business partner addresses. This creates the media-specific business partner addresses as additional addresses for the corresponding SAP business partner, together with the relevant address usages.

Note:

Before you carry out this Customizing activity, read SAP Note 1310701, which describes the address conversion in detail.

Before you can use the time-dependent address management function in the SAP Business Partner, you must define and assign an address type to each role for media-specific addresses. To do this, you must carry out the following Customizing activities:

  • Define an address type for each role in Customizing for Cross-Application Components under SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Address Determination -> Define Address Types.
  • Assign the address types to the roles of the media-specific address in Customizing for SAP Media under Master Data -> SAP Business Partner for Media Companies -> Address -> Assign Address Types to Address Roles.
  • Activate the time dependency of the SAP Business Partner addresses (development BUT020) in Customizing for Cross-Application Components under SAP Business Partner -> Activation Switch for Functions.

The business partner address conversion function supports parallel processing (RFC).

The key date determines which addresses in media-specific address management are converted. To avoid creating addresses in the Business Partner that are no longer valid, do not specify a key date that is too far back in the past.

You can restrict selection for business partners by way of a test.

Perform business partner address conversion in full. Once you have activated the time-dependent addresses, restrictions apply when processing subscription orders for business partners who have not been converted.
