ISM_DOCU_BESTAND_CH - Overview for Postal Master Data Transfer

In this step, you access the postal data transfer programs for Switzerland. For more detailed information, see the online documentation on the program in question.

Please adhere to the following sequence when transferring the dataset of PTT master data:

  • 1) J_1SNFIL (Create temporary SAP file)
  • 2) J_1SKGS (Create dummy entry for district municipality key)
  • 3) J_1SNORT (Transfer PTT city data)
  • 4) J_1SNPLZ (Transfer PTT postal code data)
  • 5) J_1SNSTR (Transfer PTT street data)
  • 6) J_1SNBOT (Transfer PTT carrier data)

Please note that you must maintain logical file names for the sequential files for the Swiss PTT using the general IMG. To maintain logical files in the IMG, choose the path Basis -> General -> Platform-Independent File Name Assignment.

The assignment between the logical and physical paths must be maintained:
Physical path: ISP_PTT_ALL
Logical path: ISP_PTT_ALL

The following logical file names must be maintained:
ISP_PTT_ORT_DAT (Temporary city file)
ISP_PTT_PLZ_DAT (Temporary postal code file)
ISP_PTT_STR_DAT (Temporary street file)
ISP_PTT_BOT_DAT (Temporary carrier file)

Please note: The physical file name depends on the settings for the logical files.

The following files from the Swiss postal service are required for importing postal data. The files can be found in the Internet under http://www.swisspost.ch/yellowbox:

PTT files for postal master data transfer:

  • PLZ_P1_datum.txt (Postcode directory)
  • PLZ_C_datum.txt (Community file)
  • STHdatum.txt (Full street directory)
  • MLSFdatum.txt (Letters, newspapers, magazines)
  • PKTFdatum.txt (Catalogs from 500g)

Please note that the character set may need to be converted before the postal data can be imported, depending on the system platform. You should import postal data to the client specified as the postal client in the general control parameters for IS-M.
