SAP E-Book

In this step you define access sequences. An access sequence is a search strategy, which enables the SAP system to search for a condition type according to valid condition records. In the case of contract iscount for example, you can tell the SAP system to search initially for a discount which is dependent on content components and then for a discount which is dependent on a booking unit.

  • If you define your own access sequences, the key should begin with the letter Z, since SAP keeps these name spaces free in the standard system.
  • You should not change the access sequences supplied in the SAP standard system.
  1. Establish the extent to which you are able to use the access sequences supplied in the SAP standard system.
  2. You can create new access sequences by copying and changing a similar access sequence accordingly. Enter an alphanumeric key, of up to 4 characters and a descriptive text.
  3. You can maintain access for the access sequence by creating condition tables in the desired sequence. This sequence determines the priority of the access. You can display the combinations defined from the key fields using the possible entries available.
  4. From Release 3.0 it will no longer be necessary to generate accesses, since this will be done automatically by the system. You will still be immeable to genrate these manually by pressing the "tools" button

You also have the following option:

  • You can improve access performance for a condition type. When searching for condition records, the system will thenm only check the header fields in the document.
