In this step you define the number intervals in the number range for services.

Each service is created under a unique key. You can define an internal or external number range for assigning these keys.

  • If you do not specify a key when you create a service, the system assigns a consecutive number from the internal number range automatically.
  • If you assign the key yourself when you create a service, the system checks your entry against the external number range.

The Ext indicator determines whether a number range is internal or external.

To define a number range, you must insert a new number interval. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Enter an alphanumeric key of up to two characters.
  2. Define the range of the number interval. Individual number intervals must not overlap. A number can only be used once in each number range.
  3. Select the Ext indicator for external number range intervals.

You should then define the number range usage for the service number range object (ISP_DIEN).
