Very large temp storage
Hello Paul,we did not see SUCH a huge tempStg, but also had problems with
too greedy WPs not releasing their tempStg until StopSAP.
After having found the very good hidden
OSS note 182207 (for DB2 on OS/390!) in addition to
OSS note 101717
we restart our WPs every day using the parameters
rdisp/noptime 87000
rdisp/wp_auto_restart 86400
This helps to limit the overall tempStg consumption for our
one week uptime, but would not help for long running job's
work processes.
Another way to save some tempStg is to lower the ODP threshold.
We use
dbs/db4/odp_open_threshold 850
dbs/db4/odp_commit_threshold 810
dbs/db4/odp_threshold 800
