EDI AUTHORIZATION PROBLEMS
Hello all,Has anyone had experience with using Harbinger for EDI? We're having a
problem with inbound IDoc's regarding authorizations. We received and RFC
error regarding opening the IDoc file - "DATASET_CANT_OPEN". When you look
in OSS they point to an authorization problem. It took us a while, but we
finally dug down far enough to user SIDnn. The IDoc would not open until we
gave SIDnn "ALLOBJ" authority. I believe Harbinger uses SIDnn when calling
a program from the kernel library, probably rfcexec.
I have two questions: 1) what are the ramifications to the system as a whole
with assigning this authority to SIDnn?; and 2) can having too much
authority have an adverse affect on our system?
