to LPAR or not to LPAR???
Your on the right track, Jim. To maximize usage of available resources, Iwould definitely suggest NOT using LPARs. LPARs are mostly useful when you
have a PRD and DEV or QAS together. Then, you would definitely want to
'reserve' resources for your PRD system.
As for the 'Curious to know other peoples thoughts??', I think the Raiders
v. Minnesota in the Super Bowl! 🙂
Have a good weekend.

Subject: to LPAR or not to LPAR???
Hello All,
I have a question as to everyone's opinion on the configuration of a
DEV/QAS box. I see customers buying a DEV/QAS boxes then using LPAR's to
split it up. Why not just install two system like we did before LPARs???
Memory and processors are sitting there unused when the other system is
busy??? Curios to know other peoples thoughts??
