OS/400 upgrade: Don't use V4R3 any longer, please upgrade to V4R5
Hi all,I would like to mention that the maintance of V4R3 has nearly ended.
Maintanance end schedules:
V4R3: 31.01.2001
V4R4: 31.05.2001
V4R5: 31.05.2002
As we detected in the last time a really strange bug in V4R3 when the latest
PTFs got installed, we really can only please ask you to upgrade to V4R5
when you are still using V4R3.
Please DO NOT update to the last PTFs on V4R3 currently!!! (This
recommendation is ONLY targeted for V4R3!!!!!)
It may occur that you see SQL0901 in the Pgm QSQOPEN afterwards without any
preceeding messages. This occurs after the system is up for a while.
Currently there is no real solution for this. The only current known
workaround is to implement another version of QSQOPEN and do a patch in the
"program-entry-point"-table. This can only by IBM service people. As they
probably won't work on these issues after january 2001, please upgrade just
the OS to V4R5.
Please use V4R5 instead of V4R4 because V4R4 runs out of maintanance by the
end of may 2001 already. So you have to upgrade in about 4 months again.
