e-group 101 - how to REPLY to a message

I don' think loosing members is an issue. The nice thing about how Rudi and
Volker have set this up, is you can participate however you like - the list
group or the (or both) and we are all still connected as long as
everyone mails to SAP400 first.

Don't hope we lose members - somehow I liked Rudi's old Linz'er list more -

Today the e-group has changed to To subscribe go to website on System i
< on System i> and follow the instructions to
subscribe. Note, however, that messages should not go to the consolutgroup
directly but continue to go to sap400Zm... (including replies). The
consolutgroup is posted from SAP400 mail.

You will probably get details from Rudi and Volker (owners of the
after you subscribe.

I prefer the web group over my private mail for many reasons - my work mail
is not stuffed with mail from the group, the history is stored for me, and
messages are arranged by thread with search capability. I don't have to
any of it to keep it around and in good order.

hope this helps,

For those of you who have elected to unsubscribe to the sap400 group and
maintain membership only in the SAP on System i e-group, I need some help.

How do you handle a REPLY to a message? I see my choices as:

1) Replying to the message from within the e-group. Then there is no way
me to send to the sap400 group - which is what Rudi and Volker want (and I

2) Replying to the message from within my own mail. Then I need to cut and
paste the message from e-group into my own mail, which is doable, but then
thread is lost in the e-group since this a new message to the sap400 group.
One of the best features of the e-group (besides the history) is the view by

Am I missing something? what to do?
