3-tier performance problems ? (especially on the DB-Server)

Hi Volker,

I've put the CHKXDA library onto our DB

A couple of questions on Note 450351
- I noticed that library CHKXDA restored to ASP2; by default the RSTLIB restored
to *SAVASP - might want to mention in the 450351 if the customer would prefer
the library to be restored to ASP1
- You can change the wait-time between checks in the data CHKXDA/DELAY; I am not
able to find that object in library CHKXDA
- Also the job queue can be maintained in the data area CHKXDA/JOBQ; I am not
able to find that object in library CHKXDA

Thank you
Doreen

Hi all,

some of you are using 3-tier systems. In former times this was configured as
OptiConnect. In the last time the "trend" is, to install Gigabit Ehternet
with TCP/IP. In the TCP/IP area, we discovered several problems, especially
we found that sometimes QXDARECVR jobs on the db-server seem to "loop". This
happens e.g. because the WP was killed by wp_max_runtime and the
DB-server-job stays on the DB-server and still consumes ressources. This
could potential occur with OptiConnect as well.

For these of you, that are using TCP/IP 3-tier, you should have a look to
the note 450351. We just released version 1.02 of this CHKXDA tool. At the
moment this tool is designed only for the QXDARECVR josb for TCP/IP and not
for the APIA-Jobs of OptiConnect.

If there is need from your site for OptiConnect with APIA-Jobs, that you
have the described problems in your environment as well, please let me know.
I will enhance these tools then for OpotiConnect with your help as well. As
we no longer do have OptiConnect here, I would have to do the tests on your
site.
If you should use OptiConnect with TCP/IP, you can use the above described
tool.

Regards

Volker
