Changing ASP on Journaling

Hi Crosby!

I think, what you are trying is far too much effort!

You can (and I would) do the change during the SAP system is UP!

What is the ASP of the current lib R3SIDJRN ? Probably 1.
Then I would use the following approach: (with SIDOFR)
CRTLIB R3SIDJRN2
CRTJRNRCV JRNRCV(R3<SID>JRN2/QSQJRN01) THRESHOLD(200000)
CHGJRN JRN(R3SIDDATA/QSQJRN) JRNRCV(R3SIDJRN2/QSQJRN01)
SAVLIB LIB(R3SIDJRN) (or whatever you do in other cases with your old
journalreceivers)
DLTLIB R3SIDJRN (This may be possible only after several minutes perhaps
after an hour, because of open transactions without a commit)
CRTLIB LIB(R3SIDJRN) ASP(2)
CRTJRNRCV JRNRCV(R3<SID>JRN/QSQJRN01) THRESHOLD(200000)
CHGJRN JRN(R3SIDDATA/QSQJRN) JRNRCV(R3SIDJRN/QSQJRN01)
SAVLIB LIB(R3SIDJRN2) (or whatever you do in other cases with your old
journalreceivers)
DLTLIB R3SIDJRN2 (This may be possible only after several minutes perhaps
after an hour, because of open transactions without a commit)

Now, you are done!

(Sounds a bit complicated, but if you have a deeper look to this, you'll see
that this is a very easy straight forward approach without any downtime,
that is a lot faster then stopping the journaling and starting again the
journaling.)

Regards

Volker
