Subject: ST03N Dialog Steps to Dialog Logical DB Requests
Ratio.

Within ST03N (or ST03) my Dialog Steps to Dialog # of Logical DB
Requests ratio seems very high to me.

We are a manufacturing company. We are running two App Servers. I'm
combining the numbers from ST03N for both App Servers. The load
across both app servers is actualy split(balanced)fairly even.

On a daily basis we are averaging 300 thousand dialog steps. These
dialog steps are creating daily averages of 35 million Logical DB
Requests. These are dialog numbers....not background.

I realize every company is different but 300 dialog steps creating 35
million logical db requests seems high to me. Is this normal to have
this many logical db requests? What are other users seeing for these
numbers?

Also, can someone verify what actually is contained in the # of
Logical DB Requests? The way I understand this is that the logical DB
requests are the requests for any (read, insert, change) to the
database. I'm also assuming 1 select issued from a ABAP program which
reads through 100,000 records would count as 1 logical db request,
not 100,000....is this correct.

Any help or response back with other users statistics would be
appreciated. Thanks
