COMMIT ENTITIES RESPONSE OF, Long Form

COMMIT ENTITIES $[IN SIMULATION MODE$] RESPONSE OF bdef1 response_param
                                    $[RESPONSE OF bdef2 response_param$]
                                    $[...$].

Addition:

... IN SIMULATION MODE

Effect

Used to trigger the save sequence and finish the RAP LUW. All RAP BO instances that have been changed within the RAP LUW and that are present in the transactional buffer are persisted to the database. The long syntax form of the COMMIT ENTITIES statement includes response parameters (response_param). FAILED and REPORTED responses can be retrieved for one or more RAP BOs that have been modified beforehand. bdef1, bdef2, etc., must be the names of root entities.

The response of each involved BO must be requested separately. The responses in this case must be considered as late response types, i. e. the instances get identified by the keys that are valid during the save phase. Therefore, the variables following the keywords FAILED and REPORTED must be of type TYPE RESPONSE FOR FAILED LATE or TYPE RESPONSE FOR REPORTED LATE respectively.

Example

The following source code section taken from DEMO_RAP_EML_COMMIT_1 demonstrates the long form of the COMMIT ENTITIES statement.

The example COMMIT ENTITIES, Short and Long Form demonstrates the use of the long (and short) form of the COMMIT ENTITIES statement.
