Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The IBM i tried to contact the network switch, but the switch did not respond within the timeout period, or the IBM i lost contact with the switch.
Recovery . . . :
Check the following, then retry the operation:
Ensure that the cable from the IBM i is plugged into the network switch.
Ensure that there is no wrap connector on the cable from the IBM i.
Ensure that the switch is powered on and ready.
If the operation still fails, there may be a problem with the network switch. Contact your network switch provider.
Possible choices for replying to message . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :
C -- Cancel recovery and inform any applications that are waiting for an operation that recovery has been canceled.
G -- Start the automatic communications recovery again for line &23 as defined by the communications recovery limit (QCMNRCYLMT) system value.
R -- Try the operation one more time.
Technical description . . . . . . . . :
The Diagnostic code is &40.
Diagnostic codes and their meanings are:
33001D90 -- During vary on of NWI &30, the Interim Local Management Interface (ILMI) tried to contact the network switch but received no response within the timeout period.
53001D90 -- After vary on of NWI &30, the signalling layer lost contact with the network switch.
The problem may be with the cable that connects to the IBM i or with the network switch.
