Cause . . . . . : The dialing digits contain a character that is not a valid ASCII character.
Recovery . . . : Use the Work with Line Description (WRKLIND) command to display the switched connection number (CNNNBR parameter) of line description &23. Determine which character is not a valid ASCII character, then change or delete that character.
If the problem continues, press F14 to run problem analysis.
Possible choices for replying to message . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :
C -- Cancel the dial attempt to the X.25 network and all logical calls waiting for the connection. Any applications and subsystems that are waiting for an operation will be informed that the logical call has been canceled.
N -- Cancel the dial operation to the X.25 network using line &23 and attempt to complete the pending logical calls. Depending on the values specified for the switched line list (SWTLINLST) and the switched line selection (SWTLINSLCT) parameters configured in each controller description, the system may choose a different line description to complete the call.
R -- Try the operation one more time when line &23 is available.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The error code is &40: The system cannot convert an EBCDIC character in the dialing digits to International Alphabet 5 (IA-5).
