BAL_RE_ARCHIVE -
CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES - Frontend Services SUBST_MERGE_LIST - merge external lists to one complete list with #if... logic for R3upThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
Purpose
Application logs are archived using this program.
Note that customer-specific data from the application logs that was written in the file BAL_INDX is also archived, but cannot be output with SAP methods when displaying from the archive because the structures of the stored objects are not known.
Integration
The program is integrated in the ADK (Archive Development Kit). Archive administration can be started with transaction code SARA.
Archived data can be deleted from the database using the program SBAL_ARCHIVE_DELETE. Data can be displayed from the archive using transaction SLG1.
Prerequisites
A log can only be archived if it has either expired (expiration date has been reached or has passed) or if the log permits a deletion before the expiration date.
The archive object for the application logs is BC_SBAL.
Selection
You can restrict the logs using the following options:
- Selection of an object, subobject, and external number
- Log number
- Log class
- Time restriction
- Initiating object of log
The following parameters are used to control the procedure:
- Test run: The data to be archived is determined and output in a statistic. No archive file is generated.
- Delete with test run variant: The selected data is archived but not deleted from the database.
- Delete with productive run variant: The selected data is archived and deleted from the database.
The settings for the archiving object in transaction AOBJ determine whether the deletion program is started directly after archiving. The variant used during the deletion report determines whether the data is actually deleted from the database.
