Setting a Location Alias

You can use this customer exit to set a location alias if you want to use the old cross-system third-party order processing.

In the old cross-system third-party order processing a location cannot be returned to the calling system as the result of the availability check, since the location does not exist in the calling system. A location alias (name of the location and location type) must therefore be returned to the calling system. The prerequisite for this is that a vendor is maintained in the calling system under the name of the location alias. If you want to use the old third-party order processing, you must use this customer exit.

In the new third-party order processing, the calling system can process the location as a result of the availability check. The customer exit is no longer necessary here.

The function module EXIT_SAPL10400_004 is called after carrying out an availability check (that is, after the results are displayed in the SAP APO server) and when generating the data that is returned to the calling application. The function module is called per RBA-substitution that is returned to the calling system.

Notes

Whether the old or new cross-system third-party order processing is used depends on the following values:

  1. Logical name of the system where the order is entered
  2. The product to be delivered
  3. The supplying location
  4. Content of the field catalog

Note that this user exit should not deliver different location aliases within an availability check for a location.

Dependencies

You can only use this customer exit with the customer exit APOAT004.
