User-defined edit code &1 for column &2 does not match field length

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The length and decimal positions for the user-defined edit code do not match the length and decimal positions of the field. Therefore, the field will be edited using the J edit code when the query is run.
Recovery . . . : If you do not want to use the J edit code, change the numeric editing defined for this field or change the length and decimal positions of the field.
