Report Writer: Password for Data Permanently Stored

Beschreibung

The permanently stored datasets in the Report Writer can now be protected by a password. It can thus be guaranteed that only authorized persons issue and look at the stored data.

To protect a dataset with a password, the password must be entered twice hidden on the initial screen of the selection program. To avoid typing errors when entering the password, the two entries are checked for correspondence. If both input fields for the password stay empty, the stored data remains unprotected.

When varying, a password can also be assigned. It then applies to all balance sheets created with the prefix.

If the output program is started separately from the selection program, the password for protected datasets must be specified. An entered password is ignored for unprotected datasets.

The display program RGRIDX00 for the stored data has been revised (function 'Selection dates' in the menu item 'Utilities'):

  • For codeword-protected balance sheets, the correct password must be entered before deletion. Codeword-protected balance sheets are marked with X in the column KW.
  • The selection criteria have been extended. Now you can either select according to the library, the report group, the descriptive text for the report group, the stored data name, the selection date and the creating user.
  • A confirmation prompt is displayed before deleting a balance sheet.
  • An indicator is displayed (column Kom/Txt) if comments exist for the stored data. The comments are also deleted when the stored data is deleted.

The program RGRSETPW is for resetting and changing the password. It must be guaranteed that only authorized persons may execute this program.
