When a report group is output online, you access the function via the menu option 'Navigate' -> 'Data selection' -> 'Graphic selection..' or directly via the pushbutton 'Data selection...' (also see release note for dynamic pushbutton allocation).

In the header of the displayed list, the latest setting for each varied dimension is displayed in a frame. The active dimension is highlighted. If more than one dimension is varied in the report, you can switch to a different one using the functions 'Choose' and 'Select'.

The hierarchy of the active dimension is displayed beneath it. All hierarchy elements for which an individual report can be displayed are highlighted in color. The hierarchy element that is currently set is highlighted. You can set a new hierarchy element using the function 'Choose' or 'Select'. Unlike 'Choose', 'Select' does not return to the report display immediately afterwards.

The graphic display of the hierarchy consists of the master data texts of the hierarchy elements. If some texts are the same, you can also display the field values or the names of the hierarchy nodes using the function 'Field values on/off'.

If a dimension is varied in several reports of a report group, it is possible to switch back and forth between a global and a local setting for this dimension. If you change the global setting for the current report, you also change the global settings in the other reports. To switch back and forth between both modes, you must first select the dimension in question in the header and then execute the function 'Global <-> Local'. A dialog box is then displayed in which you can select the required mode.
