Payroll Reason and Category
Beschreibung
Until 4.0B, the payroll type and payroll ID were used to specify processing type. But as of 4.5A, payroll type and payroll ID are drived from payroll reason and category.
In the payroll accounting, the administrator has to specify the payroll reason for the payroll run in the selection screen as a parameter.
The reason, for example, periodical bonus for summer, periodical bonus for winter or incentive bonus, specifies more precisely the type of payment to be made. You can define your own payroll reason via Implementation Guide.
The category defines the payroll processing type used in the maine schema and thay are pre-defined by SAP.
Note
The payroll reason and category is used only for payroll accounting. For evaluation reports, the payroll type and payroll ID must be spcecifed. This has not been changed from 4.0B.

The payroll type and payroll ID are still used in the internal processing of payroll accounting. They are stored in the payroll cluster. In 4.5A, you do not need to change your evaluation reports which read payroll results.
