In this step, you flag the wage types that form the OTE (ordinary time earnings) wage types. The OTE wage types are cumulation wage types used to calculate superannuation contributions.

Where contributions are based on a percentage of the employee's earnings, the superannuation percentage is applied to the OTE wage types during the payroll run to calculate the company contribution and the employee contribution.

You want to cumulate certain standard wage types into an OTE cumulation wage type. To do this, you select a cumulation wage type that is not currently in use (work back from wage type /196), and define all the earnings you want to cumulate into the OTE wage type. These earnings may include salary, allowances, bonuses, commissions, over-award payments, shift and casual loadings, workers' compensation payments, annual leave and sick leave payments. You then flag the cumulation class for all the wage types you want to cumulate into the OTE wage type.

The R/3 System contains the following sample SAP wage type for ordinary time earnings:
/172 Superable earnings

To set up the ordinary time earnings wage types, you

  1. Flag the wage type you want to cumulate into the OTE wage type.
  2. Choose Details.
  3. Set a flag for the relevant cumulation.
  4. Choose Save.
