In this step the Employee social insurance category is defined. This category divides the employees of a company into groups of similar social insurance properties.

This division is used to make statistical totals onto the three-monthly SI-declaration tape.

According to the record level on this SI-declaration tape the employee's category can be used in one of the following meanings:

  • a refinement onto the recruitment/SI-statute as described in the Group/Subgroup properties and specified in appendix 2 of the Instructions to make the SI tape distributed by the National office of Social Insurance,

  • type of employee for which a special (appendix 2bis) or additional (appendix 3) contribution is required,

  • identification of some reductions and supplementary contributions (appendix 4).

Only some combinations between Employee SI categories and Employer SI categories are valid. This is not tested by input but when the SI-declaration is prepared, because those validations are continously changing without retroactive impact.

For tables that combine the keys Employer category and Employee category a blanc value for the latter means that the specified rates are valid for all employee categories within the employer's category.

The Belgian Net Pay only supports the following categories (of type 1) throughout all their legal requirements:
015 Workers standard category (level 3 to 9)
027 Workers & plac.students, level 3-9
482 Sal.employees & plac.students, SF CPNAE
487 Sal.EEs & plac.students, no CPNAE & 201
491 Sal.EEs with contrib. soc.fund nat. PC
495 Employees not submitted to CPNAE & 201

The standard SAP R/3 System contains all categories predefined by the SI authorities.

Normally "SI Specifications Employees (B)" can only be changed in case of a change in the SI regulations. In this case the programs shall be updated accordingly.

  1. You can delete the categories not used in the company. This will provide you with a real validity check. To delete an entry:
  • delete it from the table Usage for SI-category employee,

  • delete it from SI-categories employees.

If new entries should be added, add them in the reversed order:

  • define the employee SI category,

  • define the usage of the employee SI category.

  1. Define the default values of Employee SI category to be used in infotype 0100, Social Insurance (B) for the different combinations of person groups/subgroups in your company.
  2. Introduce the same defaults in feature RSZKN.

The Employee SI category is also used in:

Percentages SI-part per category employer/employee
Total SI per employer/employee category
Rate for existence insurance fund
Wage moderation rates

that can be modified via Parameter settings and
also in:
Quarterly control ticket SI declaration
Logic of the social security payments
Logic of the social security reductions
