Resource Thresholds

Unless all of the following criteria are fulfilled, no resources shall be made available for parallel processing of an asynchronous RFC. (In exceptional cases, the system may trigger a RESOURCE_FAILURE).

• Number of free dialog work processes: 1
  This standard value =1; it can be specified using the profile parameter rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp. A number of dialog work processes are kept free as reserve instances for other purposes, for example system logons or administration programs. Therefore, the number of free dialog processes must be greater than the value of the profile parameter rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp.
  
  
  
• Proportion of user-specific dialog work processes: 75%
  This standard value can be changed using the profile parameter rdisp/rfc_max_own_used_wp.You specify the number of dialog work processes using the profile parameter rdisp/wp_no_dia.
  
  
  
• Proportion of requests currently in the dialog queue: 5%
  This standard value (5% of the total length of the dialog queue) can be changed using the profile parameter rdisp/rfc_max_queue. You specify the length of the dialog queue using the profile parameter rdisp/elem_per_queue.
  
  
  
• Proportion of logons in the system: 90%
  If the proportion of users already logged on is greater than 90%, then no resources are made available. You can change this standard value using the profile parameter rdisp/rfc_max_login. You specify the maximum number of logons to a server using the profile parameter rdisp/tm_max_no.
  
  
  
• Proportion of user's own logons in the system: 25%
  You can change this standard value (25% of all logons) using the profile parameter rdisp/rfc_max_own_login. Every RFC causes a logon in the target system.
  
  
  
• Proportion of communication entries used: 90%
  Every server has a limited number of communication channels. The standard value limit is 90%. You can change this value using the profile parameter rdisp/rfc_max_comm_entries. You specify the maximum number of communications channels using the profile parameter rdisp/max_comm_entries. An entry for the client and for the server is made for each connection.
