ABAP CDS - Component-Specific Annotations

Effect

Specifies an annotation annotation in DDL source code in ABAP CDS that is not specified as an ABAP annotation in the documentation for the current context. Annotations of this type are not evaluated when the object defined in the DDL source code is activated or when it is used by the ABAP runtime environment.

Instead, the annotation can be evaluated as a component-specific annotation by the framework of a different software component. One prerequisite for SAP component-specific annotations is that names and values follow the rules specified in the documentation Annotations for ABAP CDS. Any application annotations that are not evaluated by a framework are ignored.

Notes

• Component-specific annotations define technical and semantic attributes in CDS objects. These attributes are required by certain software components. Examples of these components at SAP are ODATA, UI, and Analytics.

• The class CL_DD_DDL_ANNOTATION_SERVICE and the method GET_ANNOTATIONS of the class CL_DD_DDL_ANALYZE can be used to evaluate annotations.
