Purpose

The report can be used to switch DIF delta handling to a new working mode. For this new working mode, it is required to create missing DIF delta records. A DIF delta record is missing in the sense of the new working mode, if there is an active occurrence for a DIF assigned to a particular location but there is no corresponding delta record.

Integration

Prerequisites

Features

Selection

Deletion of obsolete DIF delta records can be optionally switched on. A DIF delta record is obsolete, if there is no active occurrence for the DIF assigned to a particular location. The deletion of obsolete DIF delta records is not mandatory for the initial migration and can be skipped in order to reduce the run time of the initial migration. It can be performed at any time later on via report /FRE/DB_DIF_DELTA_DELETE.

The report provides an option for package processing by packages of locations. The main purpose of this option is the definition of packages for parallel processing. Without parallel processing, the option can be used in order to reduce memory consumption peaks.

Parallel processing is possible with definition of server / server group and maximum number of parallel tasks.

Standard Variants

Output

The report provides a success message in case of successful completion.

Activities

The report must be run exactly once per client in order to migrate the DIF delta handling to a new working mode.

Depending on the number of locations, DIF definitions and DIF occurrences in the system, the report can consume considerable run time. In case of a high data volume to be processed, the parallel processing option shall be used with package size (number of location per packages) adjusted to the number of locations and available processes for parallel execution. If the report is run at the beginning of an implementation project (few data in the system), run time is not an issue.

Repeated execution is possible, but will not alter any data after one successful execution. The execution is optional, i.e. DIF delta handling will also work in the former working mode. It is highly recommended to migrate the DIF delta handling to the new working mode, since this might reduce run time of FRP sequence 3 (demand forecast calculation).
