/SAPAPO/PPO_OPT - PP Optimizer Execution

Purpose

Production Planning Optimizeris a cost-based planning engine which converts a supply chain problem (comprising of demands, stocks, production, procurement, distribution) into a linear programming problem to arrive at an optimum supply plan to satisfy demands and stock bounds.

The objective is to minimize the cost of the overall solution while respecting the constraints in the problem.

Integration

Prerequisites

You must create and assign the following profiles to the heuristic settings:

• Optimizer Profile

• Time Bucket Profile

• Category Profile

• Parallel Processing Profile(optional)

Planning Horizon:

Planning Start Datethat is maintained in the report is considered, otherwise the system date will be taken into account.

Planning End Dateis derived from the least of the two- end date from the time bucket profile or the planning end date maintained in the report.

Note: The planning end date maintained in the report must not be less than the system date since the optimizer will not perform production planning in the past.

Scheduling Parameters:

At the time of order creation, scheduling parameters have been defined in the PP Optimizer heuristic (/SAPAPO/PPO_HEURISTIC) itself and cannot be influenced using the strategy profile. The most important scheduling parameters influencing order creation are as follows:

• Scheduling mode- Infinite scheduling

• Planning direction- Forward direction

• Non-working time- Can be influenced by the optimizer profile

• Validity period of orders- Do not consider

• Actions in case of scheduling error- Terminate immediately

Note:

If the orders use production data structure (PDS) with setup groups, then such planned orders are created in the deallocated state.
