Purpose

Using XSLT transformation, the program converts an XML file that is provided by the European Community (EC), and which contains customs offices, into a format that you can upload into the SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) system. This allows you to upload all the European customs offices into the system, where they can then be used.

Integration

Prerequisites

To use the customs offices that are provided by the EC in an XML file in SAP GTS, you have to convert the XML files into a specific format. You can find the EC's XML file and the XML file's definition on the Web at:

http://europa.eu.int/comm/taxation_customs/dds/cgi-bin/csrddown?Action=getData&Type=msg&Lang=EN

This URL contains two different files. The file with the format IE931 is the one that contains the customs offices. To upload the customs offices into the SAP GTS system, you have to save the EC's XML file on a local data carrier and make it available for upload.

When checking the file, the system may report errors (for example, postal code errors). You can prevent these error messages by switching off the checking of postal codes in Customizing for the time when the file is being uploaded.

Features

Using XSLT transformation, the program converts an XML file that is provided by the EC, and which contains customs offices, into a format that you can upload into the SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) system. This allows you to use the customs offices in the system.

In addition, after converting the file, you can start uploading it into the system.

The EC file format is converted into the SAP GTS format as soon as you upload the file from this program into the system or simulate the upload. You can later upload the converted file into your system whenever you wish. If you want to upload the converted file into your system later on, go to the SAP Customs Management area menu and choose SAP Customs Management -> Master Data -> Customs Offices -> Upload Customs Offices from XML file.

Selection

The selection screen contains four different blocks:

  • Upload Data
  • In the standard configuration, this indicator is not activated. If you set the indicator, the system uploads the data immediately after it has been converted.

  • If you set the indicator, the Control Parameters for Upload and General Control Parameters blocks are ready for input. If you do not want to want to upload the data immediately after it is converted, the input fields in the two blocks are inactive, as they are only required for uploading data into the system.

  • XML Files
  • Two XML files must be entered in this block.

  • The first is the local XML file provided by the EC (format IE931) that contains all the data for the customs offices.

  • The second is the file that is generated and that is in the format that can be uploaded to the system.

  • Control Parameters for Upload
  • In this block, you specify the data for upload into the system (for example, a data provider and a legal regulation).

  • General Control Parameters
  • In this block, you can make various settings to control the upload.

  • If you set the 'Simulation Mode' indicator and choose Execute, the system only performs a simulation.

  • If you do not set the Simulation Mode indicator, the Save Log indicator is active. You can decide whether you want to save the log.

  • In the Upload ID field, you can specify a key, under which the system saves the log in the database. Using the upload ID, you can later drilldown the relevant logs.
