Purpose

You can use this program to find or create links to Knowledge Warehouse, which can be used for calls by using a function module (IWB_HTML_HELP_OBJECT_SHOW).

Can only be called via the program ABAP_KW_LINK.

Activities

  1. Call the SAP Library Help in the Browser
  2. Execute program.
  3. Copy the LOIO and SLOIO from the address line of the browser into the corresponding fields on the selection screen. Appropriate values (XDP_STRUCT/IWB_STRUCT or BCO_COMMON/IWB_EXTHLP) must be specified for the structure class and topic class. An optional key value can be specified for an industry enhancement.

    These keys are saved and used to locate the link when it is used. The industry enhancement can be set for the associated documentation only. In SAP Basis in particular it has to remain empty.
  4. Specify a key text in the EXTENSION field that corresponds to the tool.
  5. Execute.
  6. The program creates a new link or suggests using an existing link (recommended).
  7. On the result screen, you can test, save and transport the link. A new link can also be deleted. The syntax for the function module call is displayed.

Recommendations

A new help link should be transported from the same system as the repository object it belongs to. This ensures that the link works correctly in all follow-on systems.
