Purpose

You can use this program to find or create links to Knowledge Warehouse (accessed using "Help -> Application Help").

Can only be called via the program ABAP_KW_LINK.

Activities

  1. Use the SAP Library in the browser to get help on specific topics.
  2. Execute program.
  3. Copy the LOIO and SLOIO from the address line of the browser into the corresponding fields on the selection screen. Appropriate values (XDP_STRUCT/IWB_STRUCT or BCO_COMMON/IWB_EXTHLP) must be specified for the structure class and topic class.

    An optional key value can be specified for an industry enhancement. It is saved and used to locate the link when it is used. It can be set for the associated documentation only. In SAP Basis in particular it has to remain empty.
  4. Enter a transaction code, program (optional) and screen number (optional) for calling from different screens of the transaction.
  5. Execute.
  6. If this link does not exist, it is created.
  7. On the results screen, you can test, save, transport and delete a new link.

Recommendations

A new help link should be transported from the same system as the transaction it belongs to. This ensures that the link works correctly in all follow-on systems.
