SAP E-Book

With landscape reporting in the Landscape Management Database (LMDB), you can display and extract LMDB data.

This SAP GUI report offers similar functionality as the reporting based on ABAP WebDynpro, which is available in ABAP transaction LMDB > Landscape Reporting.

The report offers three options to access the result:

  • Display in SAP GUI ALV
This option displays the result list directly in the SAP GUI. Technically, this is done using a generic ALV table. The table offers several options to show and hide additional columns and adapt the layout to your needs. An export as MS Excel spreadsheet is possible.
  • Export to Client
This option directly saves the result on the local client. Therefore, the local file path must be provided. Use the value help to select the path.
  • Export to Server
This option stores the result files on the application server (or a network share to which the application server is connected). Because the result is stored on the application server, this option can be executed in a background job. Also a periodic execution is possible.
Example: Once a day the reporting is executed and the exported tables are stored on a file share.

    Prerequisite for Export to Server:
You have setup the logical path to the server directory in transaction FILE: You have assigned a physical path to logical path AI_LMDB_REPO_EXPORT_PATH.
You can check the available storage locations of the server using transaction AL11.
The generated file will get the following name: _.xlsx (this is defined also in transaction FILE (logical file name AI_LMDB_REPO_EXPORT_FILE).
    Example File: /usr/sap/tmp/DP7_SAPTechnicalSystem.xlsx
If there already is a file, it will be overwritten. The job log lists the exported file names. If you cannot find an exported file, check if you are looking on the correct application server.

You can check the file path configuration in transaction SF07 for logical file AI_LMDB_REPO_EXPORT_FILE. There should be two entries: AI_LMDB_REPO_EXPORT_PATH and AI_LMDB_REPO_EXPORT_FILE.

Hints:

  • If you want to export the data of all reports at once, you can select the report option Trigger all reports.
  • Other LMDB support tools are available with report AI_LMDB_EASY_SUPPORT.
