BC_SBAL_WRI - Archive Application Logs: Write Program

Purpose

The archiving object BC_SBAL is used to archive application logs.

Integration

You can use the program BC_SBAL_WRI to read data from application-specific logs from the tables BALHDR, BALDAT, and BAL_INDX and write it to archive files. If any obsolete logs are found in the table BALM, they are first moved to the tables BALHDR and BALDAT.

The program SBAL_ARCHIVE_DELETE is used to delete the data from the archived logs from the original tables. Only data that has already been archived is deleted.

The program is integrated into the ADK (Archive Development Kit). You can access archive administration by using transaction SARA.

Prerequisites

Features

Selection

The data to be archived is selected on a screen similar to those in transactions SLG1 and SLG2.

You select the data to be deleted by selecting archives.

Standard Variants

The standard variants SAP&TEST and SAP&PROD are delivered for both programs.

SAP&TEST determines the number of records to be archived from the tables BALHDR, BALDAT, and BAL_INDX or the number of records to be deleted.

SAP&PROD archives the corresponding data or deletes it from the databases.
