Title

Transfer Report for Industries (BUPXPRA12)

Purpose

In Release 5.0 (CRM 2.0C based on 4.6D) SAP Business Partner offers you the option of maintaining industries for multiple industry number systems. This information is stored in the new table BUT0IS, and maintenance is conducted by means of a table control. You can thus maintain multiple industries for different industry number systems, whereby you can have defaults for an industry number system as well as for one industry per system. The option available to date in which you maintained one single industry in the business partner (field BUT000-IND_SECTOR) is now superfluous. This field is no longer visible, and cannot be maintained.

You can use BUPXPRA12 to transfer the field contents of these old industry fields to the new table. The system not only generates entries to the master data table BUT0IS, but also the corresponding entries to the check tables, meaning that the texts for the old industries are also copied.

You do not need to make any changes in Customizing, because field group 049 for industries has been retained.

The industry number system generated for the old entries can be viewed under the name "Industry system, old (BUT000)".

For performance reasons the report does not run during the upgrade, and must be started manually. For this reason, you must ensure that during the run no changes are made to the control tables affected (TB038, TB038A, TB038B, TB038T), as otherwise inconsistencies may occur. The business partners themselves are all locked, meaning that before you can start the run, you must unlock all partners.

With large quantities of data you can expect a long runtime, as the system has to read the complete partner inventory.
