Purpose

You can use this program in cases where the processing of CIF queue entries (LUWs) by the scheduler for outbound queues (QOUT scheduler) results in performance bottlenecks. These performance bottlenecks can occur, for example, if a large number of CIF queue entries have piled up in the outbound queue as a result of system downtimes or other technical system problems.

Note that this program is intended for emergency situations only. Do not use this program as the default replacement for the QOUT scheduler. For this reason, make sure that you reset the settings that have been temporarily changed in transaction SMQS to the original values immediately after the program has finished.

Integration

Prerequisites

Features

Selection

The selection screen contains the following fields:

  • Recipient
Here you enter the recipient who is to be informed automatically when the program has finished.
  • Recipient Type
A recipient type can be the name of user or an Internet address, for example.

Standard Variants

Output

After the program has finished, the system sends a notification to the recipient.

Activities

  1. You use transaction SMQS to call the QOUT scheduler. You deregister the existing registered destinations and register new entries with the prefix ZZ.
For the CIF destinations, this means that you delete the entry CF* and create a new entry ZZCF*. As a result of this, the CIF destinations are ignored by the QOUT scheduler and can only be processed by the program /SAPAPO/CIF_EMRG_QOUTSCHED.
  1. You start the program /SAPAPO/CIF_EMRG_QOUTSCHED. To avoid performance problems and timeouts during the execution of the program, you can only execute the program in background processing mode. During the runtime, the program writes additional information about the queues that have been started to the spool. The program ends after a defined number of internal runs.
  2. After the program has finished, the recipient specified in the selection screen is notified automatically.
  3. If there are still a large number of CIF queue entries in the outbound queue after the program has finished, start the program again.
  4. After the program has finished, reset the settings that were temporarily changed in transaction SMQS to the original values. The notification should ensure that the settings are reset in a timely way.
