Title

Landscape Transformation: Runtime Analysis - Simulation Step

Purpose

You use this report to schedule a specified number of parallel jobs to update the table CNVA_00555_SIM. The report triggers a certain number of background jobs in each step and increments the number of jobs in the subsequent step by the same number.

This report stores the job runtime statistics for each job of a step in the database. The report also stores system statistics for each run of the report in the database.

Integration

This report is integrated with the Simulatestep of Runtime Analysis .

Prerequisites

You have successfully completed the Initializestep in Runtime Analysisbefore executing this report using Simulate.

Features

Selection

You can execute this report in Runtime Analysis with the PCL Package ID as the selection parameter.

After execution, a dialog box appears where you are required to select one of the following two options:

  • Start with 2 jobs and increase no. of jobs by 2 after each step
  • Start with 3 jobs and increase no. of jobs by 3 after each step

Selecting an option specifies the number of jobs that the report schedules for each step.

For example, if you select the first option, the report schedules two background jobs in Step 1. After Step 1 is complete, the runtime statistics of both the jobs are updated in the database and Step 2 is started with four jobs.

After the completion of Step 2 and the update of runtime statistics, Step 3 starts with six jobs. This sequence continues until the number of jobs in the current step reaches the total number of waiting background work processes available in the application server.

Standard Variants

None.

Output

The system statistics such as database size, database free space, physical memory, and so on are stored in the database for each run of the report with the specified PCL Package ID. The runtime statistics are stored in a separate database table for each background job scheduled by this report.

Activities

You can access this report from the transaction CNVA_00555_IMG (Runtime Analysis).
