Description

This program is used for a pre-analysis in preparation to a chart of accounts conversion.
The pre-analysis consists of five steps (for details, see the following paragraphs):

  • Maintenance of mapping tables
  • Analysis of mapping tables
  • Overview of accounts and cost elements
  • Overview of sets
  • Transfer of mapping into the chart of accounts conversion package

  1. Maintenance of mapping tables

In this step, you define which chart of accounts will be converted in which way. Specify the company codes that will participate in the conversion by double-clicking on a chart of accounts.

Note:

  • To learn about the meaning of a column, select the column and choose the Help icon.
  • Note: In this step, it is NOT possible to maintain the mapping tables for the chart of accounts conversion package.

  1. Analysis of mapping tables

In this step, the mapping that you defined in the previous step is displayed. In addition, you get information about any additional charts of accounts and/or company codes that need to participate in the conversion, and learn whether the conversion can be executed in one step or in two steps.

Note:

  • The meaning of the different colors is described in the legend.
  • If the chart of accounts conversion package has already been installed, you can also view the mapping that was entered there.

  1. Overview of accounts and cost elements

You get an overview of how many G/L accounts, primary cost elements and secondary cost elements there are for each chart of accounts (A segment) and of how many related B segments there are for each company code and controlling area.
In addition, you get information about any inconsistencies (that is, if there is no A segment for a given B segment).

Note: You can also display only information on individual charts of accounts or information on the charts of accounts that occur in the mapping table.

  1. Overview of sets

You get an overview of set classes 0000, 0102 and 0109, which may have to be converted. Entries in the header table have a different color than entries in the FS item table. The FS item table can contain individual values as well as intervals.
With regard to the fact that these values do not necessarily refer to existing accounts/ cost elements, you are informed about instances of this type (for set classes 0102 and 0109).
Set class 0000 is cross-chart of accounts. You are informed if a value corresponds to an account/ a cost element.

Note: You can also display information only on individual charts of accounts or on the charts of accounts that occur in the mapping table.

  1. Transfer mapping tables

If you already have a chart of accounts conversion package available, you can transfer the mapping entries made in the first step to the mapping tables of the chart of accounts conversion package in this step.

Note:

  • Please note that the mapping tables for the chart of accounts conversion package contain more fields that need to be maintained.
