CRMS4_SERVICE_CONTRACT_RENEWAL - Renew Service Contract Items

Purpose

You can use this program to extend the duration of service contract items whose validity ends within a certain period.

You can start this program immediately or schedule it to run in the background. Note that you can reduce system load and processing times by running this report during periods when system usage is lower (at night, for example).

Prerequisites

• You have selected the Enable checkbox for the service contract items to be checked, and you have defined the auto renewal period and the contract extension.

• The renewal period indicates the period of time until the end of the contract during which the renewal of the service contract item is triggered automatically.

• The contract extension indicates the period for which the service contract item is to be extended.

• In Customizing activity Settings for the Maintenance Framework (BTMF), you have entered the BTMF process SC_ITEM_RENEW in the Activate Change Process view.

Selection

Before you run the program, you can restrict the number of service contract items that are processed for each block.

• If you increase the block size, the required memory also increases. This enables you to improve system performance.

• If processes are cancelled due to a lack of memory, you can reduce the block size to save memory.

If you select the Simulate checkbox, the service contract items due are displayed in the Application log but are not renewed.

Standard Variants

Output

The program processes all service contract items whose contract end is found within the auto renewal period that has been defined for the service contract item.

You can check the program execution in the application logs.

Activities

To access this report from the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Service -> Service Processes -> Renew Service Contract Items (transaction CRMS4_SC_AUTO_RENEW).
